Discovery of the giant red bag that lives under the sea in Indonesia
First
the worldwide outbreak of the corona virus and then the locust heart attack in
many parts of the world, this year the news about science has been fairly uncommon.
Scientists
in Indonesia have now proclaimed that they have exposed one of the world's
largest crustaceans in terms of size, which they call the Big Red Bag. Crabs
and prawns fit to the Christian family.
This
new being fits to the genus Bethenomus, which is a big animal whose bodies are mottled
and stiff, and they look like insects but are much larger than them. They live
in profound waters.
These
Bethanomus Rakasa are found in the sea between the Indonesian islands of Java
and Sumatra at a complexity of 957 to 1259 meters. In Indonesian, rakasa means huge.
They are also found in the Indian Ocean.
When
young, these red bags spread a size of 33 cm, which is measured to be a very big
size. Other types of bethanomes can produce up to 50 cm from head to tail.
"It's
really big, and it's the second-largest species in the family of such
animals," said Koni Margarita Sedabeluk, who ran the study and is united
with the Indonesian Organization of Sciences (LIPI).
There
are presently only seven known species of asopods in the biosphere.
This
is the first time that bethanomes have been exposed in the deep sea of Indonesia.
The research team speaks little research has been complete in the part.
Kahio
Rahmadi, head of the biology department at LIPI, says the detection designates
how much biodiversity there is in Indonesia that leftovers to be investigated. According
to the Museum of Natural History in London, there are many scientific sentiments
as to why these sea beings are so large.
One
concept is that animals that live so profound in the ocean need more oxygen, so
they have greater bodies and longer legs.
One
of the details they produce up is that the less animals that quarry on them so unfathomable
in the ocean, the calmer they are to grow up.
In
adding, Bethanomus animals have less meat in their bodies, such as crabs, which
is why other hunters are less absorbed in them.
These
animals have long projections on their heads that help them walk in the dark.
However,
they look odd but do not trouble much.
These
animals mostly wander the seabed and eat the food deceitful around or left by
others instead of hunting.
According
to the Museum of Natural History, their digestive system is very slow, so they
can live for a long time without food. One such large animal was reserved in
Japan and lived without food for five years
The
latest research is a combined exertion of LIPI, the National University of
Singapore and the Lee Kang Chen Natural History Museum.
In
2018, throughout their two-week research work, the squad composed thousands of beings
from 63 dissimilar places and exposed a dozen new species.
The
team discovered two examples of bethanomes, one male and one female. The male
was 36.03 cm in size while the female was 29.08 cm.
